REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Sat. Oct. 26, 9:00 PM * Entries must be registered by this date

WHERE: Library 21C, Colorado Spriings

WHEN: November 1st through November 30th, 2024

INTAKE: Friday, November 1st. 10:00 am to 12 Noon

OPENING RECEPTION (Meet the Artists): Saturday, November 16th, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

PICK-UP: Saturday, November 30th, 10:00 am to Noon

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Open to any PPWS member in good standing whose dues are current.
  • Each member may enter one (1) painting. NO theme and NO LIMIT on the size of the painting!
  • Media: Paintings must be predominantly watermedia on watercolor paper, rice paper, claybord, Yupo, illustration board, canvas, or silk. Watermedia includes watercolor, casein, gouache, and acrylic. Collage or pen/ink is allowed as long as the painting is predominantly watermedia. No water-soluble oils.
  • Art must be remain on display until the end of the show on November 30th.
  • No restrictions on when the painting was done, or whether it’s been in other shows.
  • Paintings must be original and the sole work of the artist. Reference photos should be taken by the artist. No art created in collaboration with other artists or in classes/workshops. No prints, digital or computer-generated art.
  • This is a non-juried show, but the subject matter must be in good taste and appropriate for the general public of all ages.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Watercolor on paper (unvarnished), must be matted and framed.
  • White or off-white mats are preferable but not mandatory.
  • If waxed or varnished, the piece can be framed without mat or glazing.
  • If on deep canvas or deep cradle board and sealed, the piece would not require a frame.
  • Plexi (acrylic) glazing is required. Glass is prohibited by Library 21C.
  • Label painting on the back with your name, phone number, painting title and medium.
  • Paintings must be ready for hanging, with D-Ring hardware and wire. No saw tooth hangers.
  • No dirt/chips/scratches/damage on mat, plexiglass, or frame.

SALES & COMMISSION: No commission required. Paintings don’t have to be for sale. Sales will be directly between buyer and artist. Wall tags can display your contact information, but not prices. Library front desk staff will provide printed price lists with artists’ contact info.

ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $10 to be paid in cash or by check (payable to 
 PPWS), at intake.


OTHER INFORMATION: Members who enter the show are asked to attend the opening reception.

WEBSITE GALLERY PAGE: If you wish to have your painting highlighted on the PPWS Gallery Page, please email a jpg image (include your name and title of painting in the file name) to Lorayne McGovern AND Sue Marion for use in promotion. Emails are listed in the Newsletter.

When preparing your painting for delivery/intake, please fill out the label below, detach it, and tape the label to the wire on the back of your painting.
