Meet David DuBois!
David is one of PPWS’ Featured Artists for May 2026!
David has been a member of PPWS since 2025 and is an Associate Member.
David’s Bio:
I was born in New York and moved to Colorado upon graduating high school in 1986. I have been married for 32 years in June. I have one daughter and one grandson who both live with us. Beyond a few art history courses in college, I have never been very artistic nor had much interest in art until I took a free watercolor lesson in early 2021. Ever since, I have been bit by the watercolor bug. I love Pugs, reading, cooking (and eating), and looking for watercolor inspiration everywhere.

David’s favorite things to paint:
I try to paint a variety of subjects to help me improve by stepping outside my comfort zone, but I love painting birds.
Other than the occasional line and wash, it is watercolor all the way for me!

David’s most admired artists:
The greats; Andrew Wyeth, Reginald Marsh, Winslow Homer, Paul Cezanne, and John Singer Sargent. For modern artists, I look to Tim Wilmot, Michael Solovyev, Ashley Hawkes, and Charles Evans. There are SO many good artists out there!

FAVORITE ARTSY QUOTE
“Embrace the blooms and let watercolor work its magic; don’t try to control it.“
David’s goals for the next year:
I hope to work on more portraits (people and pets), improve on my skies/clouds, and enter my first member show.
