It is with excitement that we invite you to attend our November 15th meeting! We will be painting holiday ornaments at the meeting in anticipation of our December white elephant exchange. We will anonymously wrap our hand-painted ornaments that we create in November, and this year we will exchange those ornaments with each other in December instead of matted paintings. Of course, if you still want to exchange a painting for an ornament you are welcome to do that too! We don’t want anyone to feel left out! We will be painting our ornaments with acrylic paints during the meeting as our monthly program.
PPWS will be providing the following:
- Ornaments to paint
- Paper placemats to cover your work areas
- Clear plastic plates to use as palettes
- Cups for water
- Gesso
- Glitter
- Water-based sealer for glitter adhesion
- Some assorted acrylic paints to share
Please plan to bring:
- Several brushes. You will be applying gesso to your ornaments and painting them. So several brushes would be recommended.
- Any acrylic paints you would like to personally use. This would be a great time to try out the red and yellow acrylic paints that those who attended the October meeting received from Golden Paints!
- Any paint pens or other materials you’d like to use in creating your ornaments.
- Also, plan to bring some inspirational pictures or screenshots to help you in your creations, and we will also try to have some things on hand to inspire you as well!
If we have our usual attendance of around forty or so, everyone should have the opportunity to paint two ornaments! That way you will have one to keep or give to a friend, as well as have one for the December gift exchange!
Don’t worry if you don’t have acrylic supplies, there will be enough to share! We will plan to have some extra brushes as well to share in case anyone doesn’t get this information and attends the meeting in November and doesn’t bring some of their own. We want everyone to be able to paint and make an ornament! Please come and join the fun! See you there! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, Nancy Neale.
