Vicki’s Bio:
Vicki’s journey with Art started in the mountains–not the Rockies but the Alleghenies on the edge of Appalachia. Her parents prepared to leave the narrow valleys and coal mining communities of West Virginia, in the time before cars had air conditioning or seat belts. They made a booster seat with a built-in art supply box, and from this perch Vicki was able to see the country and sketch using colored pencils. Along with one younger sister, they were an Air Force family of four, criss-crossing the country and eventually landing at the Air Force Academy.
Vicki graduated from Air Academy High School and CU-Boulder. Her studies included fine art and commercial art. Art took a back seat as Vicki lived and worked in different places—among them South Korea, St. Louis, Kansas City, Fort Worth, and the Sierra Nevada foothills in northern California.
Now living in Colorado Springs, Vicki draws, paints mostly in watercolor, and sometimes hand builds pottery, aiming to incorporate the beauty of life in the Rockies. Current memberships include Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, Pikes Peak Arts Council, Fremont Center for the Arts, and Mountainside Art Guild. She enjoys road-trips with Art riding shotgun.
