
Meet Mary Gorman!
Mary is one of PPWS’ Featured Artists for June 2025!
Mary has been a member of PPWS since 2006 and is a Signature Member. Mary was the society’s Membership Chair for 3 years, assisted with the International Watermedia show in 2013, and has helped with the intake and hanging of a number of member shows.

Mary’s Bio:
Mary is a Colorado native and says her heart is always in our Rocky Mountains, though she has been fortunate to travel the globe. Retirement from Federal Civil Service gave her the time to pursue her artistic journey. She has found amazing teachers, support and inspiration in the local art community. Mary has been a member of Gallery 113 in downtown Colorado Springs since its opening in 2011. There she displays and sells her silk and watercolor paintings. She is a signature member of Pikes Peak Watercolor Society and Silk Painters International. She likes to express the beauty and diversity of our world through landscapes, florals, and whimsy in her animal paintings.

Mary’s Awards:
While pursuing a signature membership with the PPWS, Mary was awarded 3rd place in the Zone show in Canon City, the Wyoming, and New Mexico Watercolor Shows.


Mary’s favorite things to paint:
I love to paint landscapes, flowers. and humorous animals.
Mary primarily paint with silks dye on silk fabric in her studio and enjoys watercolor plein air. She also dabbles with acrylics, especially on metal butterflies for the Rotary Club annual fundraiser.
