Meet Martha Lancaster!
Martha is one of PPWS’ Featured Artists for the month of December 2023!
Martha has been a member of PPWS since 2016 and is an Associate Member.
Martha’s Bio:
Originally from Memphis, TN, Martha now resides in Colorado Springs since 1978. She works predominately in watercolor and oil. With a degree from Pikes Peak Community College in Commercial Art, her career as a graphic designer spanned almost 30 years in an advertising agency and freelance. Upon retiring, she returned to painting and studied under several great teachers: Thomas Owen, Lorraine Watry, Randy Hale, Tim Oliver, Sterling Edwards and the fabulous Lian Zen Quan, plus many more.
Martha has shown in Group Exhibitions around Colorado and was represented by Boulder Street Gallery in Colorado Springs.

Newmont Mining Company 2021:
Commissioned to do a painting of Fairview Ore House. The painting was placed in the District Museum in Cripple Creek where is permanently hangs.
Taos Watercolor Workshop 2021 and 2022: Sagebrush Hotel in Taos, NM chose my paintings of the hotel to hang permanently in the hotel.
Martha will be the featured artist for the 2024 Pikes Peak Birding Festival and my painting of the Snowy Egret will be used on their t-shirts.
Martha’s favorite things to paint:
As an avid hiker and traveler, I enjoy photographing nature, landscapes, cityscapes, and places I have been and want to remember.
Besides watercolors, Martha also works in gouache and oils.
