Meet Stephanie Plaisted!

Stephanie is one of PPWS’ Featured Artists for December 2025!

Stephanie has been a member of PPWS since 2025 and is an Associate Member.

Stephanie’s Bio:

I’m a Colorado Springs native with a lifelong love for art. In 2017, a friend encouraged me to join Victor Celebrates the Arts (VCTA). That first year, I struggled to finish a single painting—but I did it, and to my surprise, it sold! Even more surprising? My mom bought it. 😊

The encouragement from fellow artists and event organizers inspired me to keep going. Since then, I’ve participated in VCTA every year, winning a handful of prizes and selling pieces to people I’ve never met—which still amazes me!

I’m continually exploring my style and learning through trial and error, grateful for the desire to create and the talent God has given me. Now that I’m an empty nester, I’m excited to devote more time to capturing the beauty of God’s creation and sharing joy through art. Here’s to many more years of growth and creativity!

Stephanie’s Awards:

2021 VCTA 3rd Place Non-Professional

Stephanie’s favorite things to paint:l

I mostly have painted landscapes or flowers, but I am beginning to dabble in painting people and animals.

Besides watercolors, Stephanie also works in acrylics, oils, and oil pastels, I am trying everything to see what I like best!

Stephanie’s favorite or most admired artists:

I really enjoy Erin Hanson! She calls herself a comtemporary impresstionist; I love her bold strokes, movent in her images, and vibrant colors! Additionally, I enjoy Patrick Kochanasz, a local pastel artist, again for his strong lines, whimsical style, and vivid colors.

Stephanies’s goals for the next year:

1. To keep making lots of mistakes
2. Learn from my mistakes!
3. Have fun learning more about art from my mistakes and from other artists.
